Angus Folk Singing Workshops

Angus Folk arrange regular singing workshops with a variety of tutors regularly throughout the year, held in Kirriemuir. For details of upcoming workshops see Angus Folk

Moonrakers Folk Orchestra Workshops

For several years Moonrakers (moonrakers.net) have been running residential and day Folk Orchestra workshops. These are suitable for intermediate musicians playing any acoustic instrument. They usually comprise a maximum of 15 people who work on arrangements of tunes and songs. Chords and parts are provided, along with some tuition, and the music is recorded and sent in advance. In 2020 the courses are being held as follows:

Northumbrian Music Workshops - Andrew & Margaret Watchorn

These are a series of concerts and workshops on the music of North Northumberland, held in various locations in the North of England throughout the summer. Players of any melody instruments are welcome to join in the workshops, and to play the tunes they’ve learned in the evening concerts if they feel brave enough!

Northumbrians And Pipers - Sandpipers Fiddle Week

Northumbrians And Pipers promotes a range of Traditional Music initiatives in the North East of England, with an emphasis on the ancient county of Northumberland. It was established in 2009 by Malcolm and Susan Craven. These initiatives include a series of ‘Friendly Neets’, in Alnmouth; ‘Pipedays’, 1:1 music lessons and courses to promote the playing of Northumbrian Smallpipes, fiddle, other folk instruments and voice.
