Ron Kerr is a weel kent figure on the Scottish Music scene but this is his first feature album. Here he shows diversity of his musical styles whilst remaining firmly rooted in the various Scottish traditions.

My particular favourite on this CD is The Wedding Waltz (more properly known as the Waves of the Danube). Waves of nostalgia swept over me as I recalled "first waltzes" at weddings over the years. Oh that modern scottish ceilidh bands could/would play "first waltzes" like this.

The notes with the CD state that a release of Ron playing for Scottish Country Dancing is on the cards. There's a prospect to look forward to.
