Andy Kenna is a renowned vocalist and musician, singing shanty songs and playing treble and baritone concertinas.

Born and bred in Liverpool, his early influences were predominantly Irish and in the 60s he became involved in the folk revival and ran clubs in Liverpool and Manchester.

He was one of the original members of the Mersey Shantymen, backing the likes of Stan Hugill and Bert Lloyd. He also performed in Liverpool Forebitter with Bernie Davis and as a solo traditional singer, recording a number of sea songs and shanties for the English Folk Dance and Song Society.

This CD release sees him singing the great maritime songs of Bob Watson supported by Steve Keene (fiddle) and Ian Sidebotham (guitar and banjo).
