Broadstairs Winter Festival

A brand-new winter festival is on the horizon in Broadstairs. Organised as a fundraiser for the annual Broadstairs Folk Week, it will run from 25-27 January, with a Burns Night Ceilidh at Broadstairs Pavilion on the Friday night, and concerts in the Sarah Thorne Theatre in the afternoons and evenings of Saturday and Sunday.

Artists taking part include The Orchestra That Fell To Earth (musicians of the original Penguin Cafe Orchestra), Tim Edey, Anthony John Clarke, Sally Ironmonger, Jez Hellard & The Djukella Orchestra and Sean Wholihan & Liam Sherry, while the Burns Night features the Up Yer Kilt Band with caller Mr Douglas Hudson.

Folk Week Director Jo Tuffs said, “Thank you to all the committee and volunteers who are working so hard to make this event a success and fundraise for the festival. It’s a chance to meet up with friends, burn off some calories and see some great bands.”
