Alan Reid has confirmed that after 4 decades playing with Battlefield Band, he plans to leave at the end of the year. His last gigs with the band will be in the US in November.
Alan will now be concentrating on his duo with Rob Van Sante, who will be touring from January 2011. They are also working on a CD due to be released in 2011 also, celebrating the life of John Paul Jones.
To coincide with his departure, Temple Records are releasing a retrospective CD of songs Alan has written or performed during his career with the “Batties”. This will feature many of the fine musicians that have worked alongside Alan over the past 4 decades.
Alan’s replacement in the band will be Ewen Henderson, who will begin playing with them during the rest of this year.
Alan says, “I feel very fortunate to have spent the last 4 decades in the Batties and will leave them in fine fettle with my very best wishes.”
