MÍCHEÁL Ó SÚILLEABHÁIN - Cry Of The Mountain
Gael Linn CEFCD079

This re-release of the 1982 recording Cry Of The Mountain is Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin as we know and love him – that classic sound, always new and innovative (even now), and yet bound to a solid traditional base. The album features music recorded by Mícheál between 1974 and 1978 for use in RTE radio documentaries and films The Kinkisha and Cry Of The Mountain.

His harpsichord especially gives the music its distinctive feel, and he is joined by many Irish greats on different tracks – Matt Molloy, Mel Mercier, Paddy Keenan, Mary Bergin, Séamus Tansey and Paddy Glackin to name a few.

A classic, timeless album!

Jim Byrne
