Well here’s a feast! No less than 34 tracks from the various recitals given at the 2008 “Willie Week” featuring a wide range of instruments (with special mention for the Uillean Pipes), five songs (one in English), 2 stepdancers and even a choir performing a local piece about a function in the village school! The compilers of these two discs have done a wonderful job, not just in choosing some really excellent performances, but in providing a great range and diversity of material, which means that when listening to the whole album, there is a continuous delight at finding new material, different genres and categories of tune, or different instruments. In short, a beautifully produced issue, reasonably priced and helping to fund a truly important institution.
