Subtitled "A Collection of Music & Song from the Edinburgh Area by Scotland's Finest Artistes" there's not a lot else to say about this gem.

The thousands of tourists who crocodile up and down The Royal Mile each day, breathing in its history and searching for a souvenir of their visit would do well to latch onto this album.

The cover picture of the Castle is much more attractive than a kiltie doll made in Taiwan and if it's something edible you're into, this is no short-bred enjoyment and the only E-factors you'll find here are E-lecticism, from the choice of artistes, E-bullience, from their performances and E-lation, from the listener's corner.

The 21 tracks contain excellent offerings from The McCalmans, Brian McNeill & Iain MacKintosh, Janet Russell & Christine Kydd, Gill Bowman, Ed Miller, Robin Laing etc. etc., with each track having an Edinburgh connection either through the title or the performer.

It's another immaculate Greentrax production with a 12-page insert providing all the information required but still enabling it to be slipped into a suitcase for a return flight out of Edinburgh Airport. Oh, by the way - it's dead good for natives too!
