The album is a prime example of everything that is vibrant and exciting about the Irish acoustic music scene - and particularly County Cork based musicians. The standard of musicianship is certainly high, but I do find it unusual nowadays to come across a five-piece band with only one vocalist amongst them. Not a criticism - just an observation! The choice of material is a brilliant showcase for the obvious talents within the band. I don't really like the fretless bass on some of the faster reels - but that is probably because I am a bit of an old grump (most listeners will doubtless love it).
