The current issue is Issue 83 featuring Jerry Holland, the Leitrim Equation, Dual and much more.
Issue 84, our next issue, has been delayed for some time for various reasons. We at the Living Tradition find ourselves in a similar situation to many other organisations, and are feeling the effects of the current economic climate. As well as this we found ourselves extremely stretched with workload issues having had to relocate our Summer Schools project to a new venue. We still have some financial hurdles to overcome but are hopeful that we can get back on track soon. We are planning that Issue 84 should be out in the next couple of months, and this will be our 2010 festival issue. Remember that subscriptions are for a certain number of issues rather than time limited, so you will still get the same amount of magazines, just over a longer time!
In the meantime we have been working hard to create this new website, which we hope will be both informative and interesting. Our plan is that this will be a more interactive site, and that people can use it to share news and information without necessarily having to go through the main Living Tradition office admin. Over time, our writers and reviewers will have more direct access to the website giving us an increased capacity to deal with news and new releases. We also plan to open up some of our archives. Check out ‘the HUB’ in the resources section of our main menu. This will be LT’s Community Site, a place for social networking for people with an interest in folk music and related activities. There is more work to be done to develop this site, but have a look around and see what direction we are heading.
We are grateful for the support of all our subscribers, contributors and advertisers over the past while. We realise that people are eager to see the magazine come out – as are we - and hope you will bear with us just a bit longer. Our aim is that after this break we will be able to overcome some of these problems and continue in a more positive way.
