IMPORTANT SUBSCRIBER NOTICE: Change of publishing schedule for late 2017

Most of you will remember that we took a bit of a break last year and didn’t print one of our autumn issues. Unfortunately, we got the taste of what it is like to be able to take a proper holiday, and liked it, so we have decided not to publish the October / November issue again this year.

We love producing The Living Tradition, and are proud of managing to keep to our planned production schedule over the past few years despite being such a small team, but although the magazine is doing well, and growing in all sorts of ways, it still falls short of being able to provide proper wages for the few of us working on it. That doesn’t matter too much to us – the magazine has always been a labour of love and we keep producing it because it is important to us and because we love the music – but it does mean that we have to make it work for us in other ways. So that means we are taking some time off so we can have a period away from the computer to look forward to! I hope it doesn’t inconvenience any of you too much.

As last year, all our advertisers have already been informed of this change to our schedule, so they have been able to plan their advertising accordingly. And subscribers will still get the same amount of magazines for their money – just over a slightly longer period of time – so no-one is getting short-changed by this adjustment in the publishing timetable. But it will allow us to recharge the batteries a bit, and come back ready to work hard on the magazine during the year ahead.

In the meantime, keep an eye on the website, which we will be keeping up to date, and where you can find news of what’s going on during the summer along with extensive lists of folk clubs, festivals and concerts.
